Negotiations Update!
June 8, 2022
Your negotiations team is in discussion with the District team who will be presenting our current offer to the Board on June 14th for approval.
As we said in the prior update, there has still not been a total tentative agreement. Hopefully, the Board will approve our request for a retro pay increase starting January 2022 instead of March 2022.
In anticipation of approval, we have set a negotiations/district meeting for June 16th in the afternoon to finalize a complete tentative agreement.
The approval process timeline will be as follows as long as the Board approves the offer:
IF the Board does not approve, we are prepared to continue negotiating over the summer and the timeline will be changed. We do not anticipate this scenario to be likely, but you may want to attend the June 14th School Board meeting to stay informed.
Please continue to check your personal email for SGTA messages until our contract has been ratified this summer.
Thank you,
Negotiations Team

We met with the District team to discuss compensation. We negotiated all day and ended sometime after 4:15 pm. We are very close to a fair settlement that does not include changes to healthcare. We have agreed to be open to meeting over the next two weeks but do not have a specific day and time. The hope is that we will come to an agreement during this time. We will keep you updated as to the progress when any meeting occurs.
Thank you for your support by wearing your SGTA gear. Admin Notices!

Bargaining Update 3/16/2022
Bargaining with the District occurred today from 8:30 to 3:05. We received a budget update. Final budget information will be determined after the May revise and State legislature adoption. There are possibly 9 teachers taking advantage of the retirement incentive. This will go to the Board next Tuesday 3/22.
Involuntary transfers were discussed and reviewed. We received a scatter gram with health care usage by employee only, employee +1 and family in order to determine actual budgetary impact. We talked about creating a base tie breaker form which includes the consideration for impact on the Districts Portrait of a Graduate.
We discussed the stipend criteria and determined that we will need to form a committee that will look at stipend pay based on the criteria agreed upon. We started the conversation with regards to salary and compensation. We gave our number to the District right before we ended the day and will continue the discussion on March 28th, our next meeting.
Thank You,
SGTA Negotiations Team

Hi SGTA GHS members,
Take a minute to double check that you have turned in a physician designation form to Cathy Miller at the DEC. I have attached the form you need to this email. Fill it out and email it to Cathy Miller. None of our members have reported feeling great about the workers comp doctors they send us to if you don't have that form on file. Just in case the email below ends up in your spam folder, I thought I'd forward it to you again. If you aren't receiving emails like the one below, let me know so we can check on what is happening before the vote for the MOU. Best, Kat |
