Negotiations Updates

The negotiations team had their first meeting with the district today. Everything started on a positive note. Derek Chau shared a comprehensive, hour long presentation on the district budget and finances. We began by presenting our initial proposal to lower the age of retirement with health benefits to 57 years of age. The district is costing out this proposal and will get back to us at our next meeting on February 27.
The district started a conversation on tightening up the voluntary transfer language in our CBA. We will continue this discussion at our next meeting as well. The other two items we sunshined (SPED/EL and salary) will be discussed at the next meeting as we are waiting for more information from the SPED committee.At our next meeting we will also be creating calendars for 2027-2028 which you will have the opportunity to vote on once they are completed.
