Today at the GHS Media Center after school from 3-4PM, teachers were invited to meet with Superintendent Dr. Pappalardo and Governing Board President Cristina Alvarado.  This was a great chance to ask them about SPED inclusion next year, contract issues, etc.

RE: 2018-2020 Executive Board Elections
Date: March 29, 2018

The San Gabriel Teachers Association will be holdings its elections for the offices of SGTA President, SGTA Vice President, SGTA Secretary, and SGTA Treasurer during the third week of April.  The term for each office is from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2020.  Anyone wishing to run for office should file a Declaration of Candidacy form with the SGTA Elections Committee no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. (Postmarked date not accepted.)

The Elections Committee will accept declarations in hard copy or electronic format.  

All hard copy declarations can be sent to:  Gabrielino High School  Attn: Edith Gonzalez

All electronic declarations can be sent to:  [email protected]

If declaring electronically, please note that you must submit the actual Declaration of Candidacy form in electronic/digital format.  A basic email with the information requested on the form will NOT be accepted. Electronic declarations submitted to the SGUSD e-mail of a committee member will also NOT be accepted. If submitting electronically, an electronic signature will be considered as valid.

The Declaration of Candidacy form, campaign statement form, and description of duties for each position are included in the attached document.

First, thanks to Eric and Melissa for signing up to attend the board meeting on Tuesday night.

There are several items on the agenda that pertain to teachers, particularly 6B (Public hearing for our sunshined contract), 7C (SPED dept update), and 7F (enrollment predictions)

The public hearing for our new contract is at 6.  Maybe some teachers want to come speak to this?  For your convenience, I have attached it to this email.
