NEA and nine other leading education groups kicked off a digital ad campaign this week urging Congress to finish rewriting ESEA and focus on opportunity for all students, no matter their zip code. “If Congress is serious about every child’s bright future, let’s get serious about putting kids first,” said NEA president Lily Eskelsen García. “Now is the time to finish the job and deliver a bipartisan education bill to the president’s desk right away. Students can’t afford to live another year under the failed No Child Left Behind law.”

Tomorrow after school you have a chance to chat with current and incoming school board members at 3:30! This is your chance to let your concerns be known and to thank them for their support. So far, I only have 5 RSVPs – with over 70 teachers it would be great if more of you could stop by! With negotiations at a tense point, it is imperative that teachers show their support for our negotiations team!

When taking your teacher photos for our video, please be mindful of the students in the background. We do not want to show any students whose parents have not approved to allow us to use their photos to be used. To error on the side of caution, you may want to use your decorative classroom as the background.
